Mangaluru: Class 6 student invents device to save water

Mangaluru, Oct 11: A student of the sixth grade of a school in Kalladka, Mangaluru, has recently invented a fascinating device. He has invented a way to prevent water from overflowing a tank.

Born to Gayathri and Kiran, Manish K is the student of Deva Matha English medium school, Kalladka. He came up with a water-level indicator to reduce wastage of water. Manish has expressed his desire to have it installed in every school to save water. On his inspiration regarding the invention, Manish claims YouTube videos helped him profoundly.

As per Manish, he began work on his invention in September, and the application of the product can be in the fields and water-tanks.

The device also helps in monitoring and controlling water levels in heavy machinery and industrial plants. When the tank is empty, a white light goes off, when the tank is half full, blue light goes off and a green light helps in indicating a full tank. Manish quoted the cost of the device to be only Rs 200.
