Bantwal: Accident involving tempo, scooter - Rider killed

Bantwal, Oct 12: The rider of a two-wheeler was killed and a lady riding the pillion was injured, after an accident happened between a tempo and a scooter on Friday October 11. The collision took place at Madame within the limits of Punjalkatte police station.

The man who lost his life was Ibrahim (47) from Soorikumeru. He had visited his relatives residing at Beluvai near Karkala along with his daughter on Friday in his scooter. When he was returning, a tempo which was coming from the direction of Bantwal reportedly hit the scooter at Madame.

Both the father - daughter duo travelling by the scooter were tossed to the road with force. They suffered serious injuries. They were being taken to a private hospital at Moodbidri for treatment when Ibrahim passed away on the way. Ibrahim's daughter, who was admitted into a private hospital at Moodbidri, is recovering, the police said.

Punjalkatte assistant police sub-inspector, Saumya, visited the spot and registered a case.
