Doddaballapur: Murder accused attacks police tries to stab with knife

Doddaballapur, Oct 14: A murder accused tried to stab a policeman and escape when the policeman tried to arrest him. This incident is reported from Aralumallige in the taluk of Doddaballapur in Bengaluru rural district.

Shivashankar, a resident of Mallohalli is the murder accused who tried to stab the Doddaballapur police when they tried to take him in custody.

Doddaballapur rural PSI Gajendra and Radhakrishna went to arrest the accused late in the night. The accused Shivashankar, who saw the police, tried to attack Radhakrishna with knife in a bid to escape. However, PSI Gajendra shot the accused on his leg by pistol for self-defence. The accused who fell down on the spot was later admitted to Victoria hospital of Bengaluru.

A case in this connection is registered in Doddaballapur police station.
