Mangaluru, Oct 14: The district administration of Dakshina Kannada has appointed a nodal officer for overseeing smooth conduct of the city corporation election which is expected to be held shortly.
The deputy commissioner has appointed Rahul Shinde, IAS officer, as the nodal officer under the directions of the election commission.
The election commission has instructed the district administration about the need to make preparations in advance for the urban local bodies of which court cases have been settled, and those bodies of which the term of office are coming to an end by December 2019.
