Chamarajanagar: Three children enjoying holidays drown

Chamarajanagar, Oct 14: Three children who were enjoying their holidays drowned at Male Mahadeshwara Hills in the district on Saturday, October 13. Male Mahadeshwara Hills is located in Hanur taluk of the district.

These children drowned in Ramegowdanahalli located at the foot of the Male Mahadeshwara hills. The deceased were Nikhita (6), Anupama (5), and Pranitha (5). They were Anganwadi students of the village and belonging to Soliga community families, who are considered to be aboriginals of the hills.

As the Anganwadi had a holiday on Saturday, they had followed their grandfather, Chinnappi, to the agricultural fields. When playing in a stream flowing near their field, all of them were dragged by the fierce force of the stream water.

Male Mahadeshwara Hills station police personnel visited the spot and undertook an investigation.
