Udupi, Oct 15: Samarpane, ‘Vesha Nannadu, Nerawu Nimmadu’ programme was organized at Ravindra Mantapa of MGM College in the city on October 14.

On the auspicious occasion of Sri Krishna Janmastami, ‘Medosa’, the queen of snakes, dress was worn by Ramanji of Namma Bhoomi and donation was collected from the public for his attire. Ramanji had decided to hand over the amount of money collected to the needy people of the society. Samarpane was a great platform, where Ramanji, in the presence of his friends and the guests of the programme, handed over the sum to the needy people.

G Jagadeesha, deputy commissioner of Udupi, appreciated Ramanji on behalf of the district administration for his work and also encouraged people to follow Ramanji and contribute for the society. He said, “There are many people who are in need of some basic facilities in life and also facing many problems. Ramanji has a good heart and has contributed to the society. He has set an example to many donors and rich people. In the coming days, I hope even they too will contribute to the people in need.”

Professor P Subrahmanya Bypadithaya, Vice-chancellor of Mangalore University, Mangal Gangothri said, “Today the society needs more and more empathetic than sympathetic people. Whenever we people connect with the problems of others we become open-minded and try to help them. To do such a great thing and be recognized in the society, I believe that one must have the ability, willpower and opportunity. Nowadays, people follow only successful people and try to imitate them but Ramanji has chosen the road that is not tread by others and he has succeeded in it. Whatever one donates must reach to the needy people. People donate money for the renovation of the temple. Some give offerings to the priest and are known in the society for the same. But what Ramanji has achieved is much more than that. He has helped the families in need and set an example for the others in the society.” He said that he felt honoured for being a part of the programme.
