Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (SB)

Beltangady, Aug 2: Police by tracing the last call made by St Mary’s Church parish priest Fr James Mukalel (39), who was found dead at Totattady village near here on Thursday July 30 morning, to a landline of a house in Kundady have thus gathered a significant clue on the of mysterious death of the priest.

Police have traced the last call made by Fr James to the landline of a certain Joseph’s house. Later, Mukalel had switched off the mobile. Thus it is suspected that Mukalel might have gone to the residence of Joseph on July 29 night.

Hello Fr. Poovatholil, As you know, Fr. James was a friend of both of us. My inquisitiveness to know the cause of the death of Fr. Mukulel does not stop me here. Probably, I thought, you will be the right person to answer my queries. Please reply to this comment.

The Indian Express News says: "The Mangalore police are yet to crack the mystery of the death of a 39-year-old Catholic priest in Belthangady region, but investigators believe that he was last seen by an 18-year-old girl he was allegedly in a relationship with at a village near where he was found dead. A priest in the Belthangady diocese of the Catholic Church, Mukalel was returning to his parish after reportedly attending a funeral in Thottathady. Sources said that the priest visited the girl after dinner and according to her statements was in her company when he complained about a sudden abdominal pain and rushed out of the house." Is that the truth? The native people also believe this story and themselves and the entire clergy keeps silent about this incident. Is there no valur for a life - especially when the departed soul is our friend?

Mysterious Death of Fr. James Mukalel Alleged Cardiac Arrest Without Any Base He vanished from the face of earth. All on a sudden. With out any excretion. How cool he died? Simply stripped off the dress and took his last breath. So cool and simple. I am attaching the postmortem report. See the discrepancies stating from the FIR notes in the report.

    1. He was more than 80 Kg in actual body mass but mentioned in the report as 60 kg.

    2. His undergarment was just near the right toe of the right leg in the actual seen. But purposefully noted as situated in the midst of the thighs (you can see the initial photographs in the internet and verify him laying nude.)

    3. There was feces pasted on to his face, nostrils, ears but totally disregarded.

    We need answers:

    1. If he was in the near by house till then, how come he dead and nude on the road.

    a) If he could comfortably stay inside the room he could have comfortably used the toilet inside the house.

    b) Did he walk out of the house without any dress on his body to the heavy rain? (for his dress was found folded near the corpus).

    c) He can't in any way be a private guest to the girl alleged in the house who is not yet 18 now. (She might be at 8th or 9th standard when he was vicar there) so if he was there in the house he was a common guest to the family including father, mother and brother of the alleged girl. Then how can he be dead on the road? We need clarification regarding alleged story.

As we know he was very noble and decent till his pathetic death which caused all sorts dehumanization. In the postmortem report, they could not after detailed analysis find any cause of death. (see the conclusion of the postmortem report) Then how can we hastily conclude that it is a cardiac arrest. Who forged the story of cardiac arrest without having any substantial document? Even those who conducted his autopsy and forensic examination, after detailed analysis, could not assert the cause of death. Cardiologists are denying the possibility of cardiac arrest because all his body organs are said to be intact, there was less than 25% of narrowing down to a vein the heart artery. According to the cardiologists it is normal and cholesterol layering to the vein is very common fact in adult human being.

If only the narrowing down comes more than 70% the doctors will consider it for treatment purpose. So the doctors are ruling out the possibility of cardiac arrest and all the more there is no mention of the same in the postmortem report. Sudden change of pulse rhythm due to immense stress is another possibility of death. This is ruled out, because the client will collapse all on a sudden without even having time to unbutton the pants for toilet purpose. Another possibility is said to be nervous arrest which can't be proved in postmortem.

    We need answers.
