Mangalore: NMP Imbroglio Partially Resolved - Dock Workers Agree to Unload Urea

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SB)

Mangalore, Aug 4: The imbroglio between dock workers and New Mangalore Port (NMP) seems to have been partially resolved on Monday August 3 evening with the former having agreed to unload urea consignment from the ship. However, the workers have agreed to unload only urea and not general cargo.

According to NMP sources the issue may be resolved in about five days when port and unions come together for a discussion and arrive at a common agreement on the National Industrial Tribunal award implementation.

It can be recalled here that dock workers suspended works from Saturday July 31 after NMP decided on implementation of award.
