Mangalore, Aug 6: Father Muller Medical College Hospital will be organizing a cardiac check up-cum-treatment camp from August 17 to August 31, with the aim of helping the needy patients, by considerably slashing charges for various services and procedures, said Dr H Prabhakar, head of the cardiology department of the hospital.
Speaking at a press conference at press club on Thursday August 6, he informed that Dr Vinni Jayam, MD, FACC, Electro Physiologist, St Francis Hospital in New York, USA, who is a renowned cardiologist, will be visiting Fr Muller College Hospital on August 18 and he will be performing pacemaker implantation procedures free of cost for a few needy, poor and deserving patients, in association with Fr Muller team, he said.
Those who wish to participate in the camp are requested to get their names registered by contacting the reception at MRD of the hospital during hospital hours from 8.30 am to 5. 30 pm. For more details, telephone No. 0824-2238163 may be contacted, he informed.
Dr Prabhakar also added that the charges for various cardiac procedures have been substantially reduced for the period of the camp. The charges will be as follows.
Cardiac Check up- Rs 900.
(Including lab/ECG/Echo/Treadmill)
Lab tests: blood Sugar, cholesterol, triglycerides
Angiogram - Rs 5,000 + ward charges.
Angioplasty (single vessel)- Rs 30,000 + ward charges.
Angioplasty (both vessels) – Rs 35,000+ ward charges.
(In both cases, stent charges at actual rates which start from Rs 22,000, would be charged additionally).
CABG charges – Rs 70,000 + ward charges.
ASD surgery - Rs 50,000 + ward charges.
VSD surgery - Rs 65,000 + ward charges.
The hospital is equipped with modern facilities like cath lab and cardiothoracic section to conduct the procedures related to cardiac diseases.
