Udupi: RS Konkani Janapad, Samskratik Bhasha Mahotsav at Bantakal

Udupi, Aug 7: Konkani Sahitya Academy and Rajapur Saraswat (RS) Yuva Vranda Bantakal will be jointly organizing a district-level RS Konkani Janapad, Samskratik Bhasha Mahotsav, at Sri Durga Parameshwari temple auditorium, Bantakal, near here, from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm on Sunday August 9.
 
Mumbai police officer Daya Nayak will inaugurate the Mahotsav on Sunday. Konkani Sahitya Academy president Narayan Kharvi Kundapur will preside over the programme. State NRI sub-committee deputy chairman Capt Ganesh Karnik, Udupi Urban Development Authority commissioner M Gokuldas Nayak, Bantakal Sri Durga Parameshwari temple managing trustee S Ramanath Nayak, Laxmipur – Yennehole Sri Adi Shakti Mahalaxmi temple managing trustee Babanna K Wagle, Narasinge – Manipal Sri Narasimha temple managing trustee Ramesh Salvankar and Mangalore Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario will be the chief guests of the occasion.

‘Konkani Maan Monis – Ek Mulakat’ programme will be held during the concluding ceremony at 4.00 pm on Sunday August 9. 

State home and district-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya will be the guest of honour. Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Bantakal RS Bhrahman Sangh president Upendra Nayak, Karkala RS Credit Co-Operative Society chairman Kadari Ravindra Prabhu and Bantakal Sri Durga Parameshwari temple trustee Nagappa Prabhu, will be the chief guests of the occasion.

Veteran transport operator of the district, Pangala Ravindra Nayak and Mumbai RS Co-Operative Bank chairman Kacheri Sadanand Nayak will be felicitated by conferring the ‘Konkani Maan Monis’ awards, on the occasion. 

Variety Konkani folk dances, talks, poets’ session and debate of linguists will be held as part of the cultural programmes.
