Moodbidri: Student Reportedly Succumbs to Injuries Sustained during Karate Competition

Moodbidri, Aug 7: Suhan (16), son of Nityanand Hegde, a bank employee, from Kukkundoor village near Karkala reportedly breathed his last late night on Thursday August 6, because of the internal injury he suffered during a Karate competition held recently.

Suhan, a tenth standard student of J C High School Karkala, is said to have taken part in the taluk level Karate competition held in a school. He reportedly suffered serious injuries inflicted by his opponent Karateka, while taking part in the compeition. The teachers, who led the team, are said to have failed to give proper attention to this injury.

The boy suffered from abdomen pain at night. He was admitted into a hospital in Karkala and then shifted to Manipal Hospital. However, he succumbed late night, it is learnt.
