Mangaluru: YCS unit of St Joseph Vaz holds ‘Yuva Dhenya Bhandhar’

Mangaluru, Oct 31: Yuva Dhenya Bhandhar 2019, a cultural competition was organised by YCS St Joseph Vaz (Mangaluru South) deanery on October 29 at St Joseph Vaz Shrine.

Fr Benjamin Pinto, the parish priest of St Joseph Vaz Church and rector of St Joseph Vaz Shrine was the president of the programme. Fr Rupesh Madtha, YCS director, Mangaluru diocese, Fr Shaun Rodrigues, deanery YCS director, Roshan D’Souza, vice president, St Joseph Vaz Church Mudipu, Laila D’Souza, deanery YCS animator, Reeshal D’Souza, deanery president and Melisha Cutinha, president YCS Mudipu were guests of honour.

Fr Benjamin Pinto and Fr Rupesh Madtha urged the youngsters to make the best of the opportunities that the church provides at various intervals of their life. Moreover to get formed spiritually, physically, mentally in order to develop each one’s personality. Reeshal D’souza welcomed the gathering, Melisha Cutinha proposed the vote of thanks and Vikshitha D’Souza compered the programme.

About 200 YCS students from 8 parishes participated in the competitions. For the prize distribution ceremony Fr J B Saldanha, the vicar vara was present along with other priests of the deanery. As it was his birthday, he was greeted with a cake and bouquet of flowers. Jenisha D’souza welcomed the gathering, Laila D’Souza thanked all those who worked for the success of the cultural competition and Jonita D’costa compered the programme.
