Udupi, Aug 11: Partner of Padma Medicals and Padma Distributions in Padubidri in the district, and social worker, Padubidri Jagadish Hegde (56), breathed his last on Monday August 10 due to illness at KMC Hospital in Mangalore.

He is survived by mother and wife.

Hegde, who entered the business field through medical shop, was popularly known as 'Medical Jagganna'. He was originally from Panjala House in Karkala Renjal. He had served as the president of Padubidri Jaycees for a term and was known for his skills in singing songs rendered by the erstwhile playback singers, Manna Dey and Mohammed Rafi. He had functioned as the secretary of Padubidri Bunts Sangh and secretary of Bunts Welfare Trust Padubidri.

The business establishments in Padubidri downed their shutters as a mark of respect for the departed soul, immediately after the news of his demise came in on Monday.
