Kundapur: Assistant commissioner celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava in local Kannada

Kundapur, Nov 1: While Kannada Rajyotsava is being celebrated everywhere, Kundapur sub-divisional officer, Raju K celebrated the day in a unique way at Gandhi maidan by speaking in Kannada language of the area. “It is not enough if we know the language. We should speak it, teach it and make it grow. Our language will be our pride and our land our dignity only if we do so. We should not forget our native language. Forgetting it is equivalent to forgetting the one who fed us. Our language should be our base. Thrusting other languages is not right. We should use the knowledge of other languages on the basis of our growth. The problems of Kannada will be solved only when Kannada is made mandatory in our administration and business,” he said.



He hoisted the Kannada Rajyotsava flag at the celebration held by taluk administration in Kundapur Gandhi maidan. He received the honor from the cadets of NCC, NSS, Scouts and guides. Police personnel under the leadership of Kundapur police inspector Harish R, V K R School, St Mary’s School, Holy Rosary School, Venkatramana School, B R Rao School, H M M School, Vaderahobli School, St Joseph’s School and other school groups conducted attractive march-past. A cultural programme was held by different school students after the hall programme.

Taluk panchayat president, Shamala Kunder, tahsildar Thippeswamy, ASP Hariram Shanker, circle inspector Manjappa, block education officer, Ashok Kamath, municipal council chief officer, Gopalakrishna Shetty, taluk youth service officer, Kusumakar Shetty and other department officials, councilors, Devaki Sannayya, V Prabhaker, Girish G K, Santhosh Shetty, former vice-president, Rajesh Kaveri and others and teachers from different schools and students were present.
