Udupi: Kiran Marshal, Amrutha Ullal, Emerge Champs at State-level Karate Contest

Udupi, Aug 11: Kiran Marshal Malpe of Udupi district and Amrutha Ullal of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district bagged the grand championship trophies at the state-level karate competitions-2009 in the men’s and women’s division, respectively, here on Sunday August 9. 

The competitions were organized by the Institute of Karate and Allied Arts in association with Padubidri and Paniyoor branches at Bunts Bhavan, Padubidri, on Saturday August 8 and Sunday. 


 

The overall trophy was bagged by Udupi district while DK district bagged the second place and Mysore district came in third.

The concluding ceremony was presided over by former state minister Vasant V Salian.

Udyavar Halima Sabju Auditorium owner Abdul Jaleel Saheb, entrepreneur Gregory Menezes, competition organizer Abdul Khader Ullal, Suresh Shetty, JD(S) local leader Vasudev Rao, Naveen Mysore, Praveen Kumar, Santosh Kumar Shetty, Y Sukumar, S P Farouq, Imtiyaz, D K Harish, Vinod Ullal, Prabhakar Kundar, M Suresh, Gangadar, Ramachandra Rao, and Rajashekar Suvarna were present on the occasion.
