Kundapur, Aug 12: Since the early years of the twentieth century, the taluk court here has been known for its land mark judgments. In providing judicial service to the public in and around the taluk head quarters, the taluk court had been acclaimed as being on par with the then district court at Mangalore, said chief civil judge Shivanna, here on Monday August 10.

Speaking on the occasion of the inaugural function of the fast-track court set up here, he added that the occasion was auspicious for the age-old Kundapur court, because the fast track court had been opened at the behest of the state High Court (HC). The real test of the efficiency of judges lies in the speedy disposal of cases. Kundapur court has always been blessed with able and learned advocates. Hence, there is no need to doubt the ability of the court to conduct speedy trials and deliver judgements on an ongoing basis, because of the earlier track record, he added.

Chief Judge K G Chintha greeted the chief civil judge Shivanna and solicited his cooperation for the successful conduct of the fast track court.

Bar Association president G Santhosh Kumar Shetty presided over the function.

First class judicial magistrate Hemalatha, additional junior magistrate Geethajali and assistant government public prosecutor Jyothi were present.

The taluk Bar Association felicitated both Shivanna and G K Chintha for being promoted to higher grade, on this occasion.

Bar Association secretary Ramanna Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
