Brooke Bond Forays From Tea to IT

IANS

New Delhi, Aug 12: The government on Tuesday approved Hindustan Unilever (HUL)-owned Brooke Bond's proposal to set up an infotech-related special economic zone (SEZ) spread over 11 hectares in Bangalore.

The commerce ministry's Board of Approval approved the proposal at a meeting chaired by Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar.

This would pave way for HUL to set up an IT and IT-enabled services SEZ in the Karnataka capital, India's IT hub, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Brooke Bond Real Estate and joint venture partners.

Brooke Bond is better known as an iconic brand of tea.
