MEA is an association for returnees from the Gulf countries formed on July 30, 1972, at the Catholic Club by 26 people having the common background of working in Kuwait, then called Ex-Kuwaiti Association. A few years later, the returnees from the other Gulf countries began to seek membership of the association and then the title was changed to The Kuwait & Middle East Association. However, in 1998, it was resolved to call it as ‘The Middle East Association’.
