Mangaluru, Nov 6: Dr Vinay V Rao, associate professor, department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology was conferred upon the degree of FACS (Fellow of American College of Surgeons) at a convocation ceremony held recently at San Francisco.

Around 1900 fellows were inducted, out of which one third were from countries other than US and Canada and amongst those, 46 were from India. Dr Vinay V Rao is the second ENT surgeon from Mangaluru who has been honored with this degree. American College of Surgeons Society has been in existence for more than 100 years and upholds the highest standard of surgical care in US. It is a matter of privilege to be inducted in this society.

Congratulatory messages have been poured on Dr Vinay from the director, FMCI, Fr Richard A Coelho, administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Fr Rudolph D’Sa, administrator Father Muller Medical College, Fr Ajith B Menezes, dean, Father Muller Medical College, Dr Jayaprakash Alva and all the faculty and students of FMMC.
