Bantwal, Nov 6: Former minister, B Ramanath Rai said that he has the satisfaction of approving five drinking water projects in the taluk and implementing three out of them. He addressed a gathering of reporters after visiting Peraje Bahugrama drinking water unit in the company of taluk panchayat president Chandrahas Karkera.

He said, "Drinking water projects in Karopadi and Sangabettu are implemented at a cost of Rs 26 crore and Rs 36 crore.” The third project in Mani is being implemented at a cost of Rs 19 crore. Villages that are left out of Bahugrama project will be included in Mudipu scheme of Mangaluru. History will be created when all the villages in the taluk will be included in Bahugrama drinking water project.”

He thanked the then chief minister, Siddaramaiah for his approval and officials who had struggled for the success of the projects.

Zilla panchayat members Manjula Madhava Mave, Chandraprakash Shetty Tumbe, M S Mohammed, Padmashekar Jain, taluk panchayat president, Chandrahas Karkera, vice president Abbas Ali, members Manjula Kushala Peraje, Congress leaders and other gram panchayat office bearers were present.
