Mangalore, Aug 15: The Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) and Bajrang Dal celebrated ‘Akhand Bharatha Sankalpa Dina’ with a rally in the city on Thursday August 14.

The procession started from Hampanakatta and concluded at Nehru Maidan. Members and leaders of both the outfits held banners and flags and shouted slogans as they walked along the roads.

Sharan Pumpwell, leader, Bajrang Dal, said “It is an occasion which is celebrated every year with the intention of uniting undivided India. On this day, we take an oath to try and unite the troubled parts of India which should belong to this nation. This is a patriotic day”, he said, adding that their oath was to build a strong nation with peace and equality.

Good comments from Vincy and Shahnawaz. How come the DC gave permission to them to hold this procession? When Minority groups wanted to have a peaceful procession permission was refused. First of all our State Govt and its officials should be fair and impartial.

Then only peace and communal harmony will prevail. The idea of uniting the so called ''undivided India'' (including Pakistan and Bangladesh) is a ''myth'' This is not real patriotism! Let us be more realistic and practical. We should concentrate to have total peace in our motherland. Jai Ho.

All the best and its a good move as per this article. If they are very sincere in uniting undevided India, they must first win the confidence of the people of those parts of lands which they want to bring in to the union of India (Pak & BD). They must preach and practice love and respect other religions, then only its possible. If you go on the hate spree, you can dream about uniting India, let alone the present India. Any way good luck and we are with you sir.

It is good step by the BJ and VHP to show the unity between them and the proof of thier nexus.I just want to know whether the procession was given a permission by the DC.If you check the records of the past, last year the DC did not permit the minorities to have a similar procession on Independance day 2008.

It good to see peaceful show of strength, but how much better, it would be if VHP/Bajrang dal serves the humanity, the suffering create a positive atmosphere and promote education for the youth, create jobs, surely the tragedy of bashing the minority would stop and then every house would celebrate Akhand Bharath Dina which other wise only a dream.
