Udupi: Two held - Ganja weighing 1.450 kg recovered

Udupi, Nov 8: In a raid conducted on the basis of reliable information by deputy superintendent of police of the local sub-division T R Jaishankar, along with staff of district crime intelligence bureau, two persons were arrested and 1.450 kg ganja they had with them for selling, were confiscated.

The raid was conducted under the directions of district superintendent of police, Nisha James, and guidance of additional superintendent of police, Kumar Chandra. The raid was conducted at Pandubettu in the town on November 7, and the arrested accused happen to be Firoze (20), son of Anwar Pasha, residing at Annanagar main road, Shivamogga, and Mohammed Mohsin (20), son of Mohammed Zafrulla, residing behind Mecca Masjid at Shivamogga. 1.450 kg ganja, two mobile phones, machine used to weigh ganja, cash, pouch etc were seized from their possession.

The arrested persons and seized items were handed over to the town police station. The estimated value of items seized is about Rs 33,000.

During the raid, deputy superintendent of police here was supported by DCIB assistant sub-inspector Ravichandra, and other staff.
