Udupi: Karnataka Hindu Jagarana Vedike Demands Ban on Cow Slaughtering

Udupi, Aug 16 (DHNS): Karnataka Hindu Jagarana Vedike  threatened to take up rigorous protest if the government fails to introduce anti-cow slaughter and anti-conversion law in the State.

Speaking to the media here , State Coordinator Jagadish Karanth informed that the Vedike is forwarding a memorandum to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa through the DCs of all the districts in the State as an initial step towards condemning the lackadaisical attitude of the government regarding their demands. The Vedike is organising ‘Bangalore Chalo’ programme on December 21 demanding stringent laws against cow slaughter and conversion.

A demand memorandum attested by as many as 5 lakh people will be forwarded to the Chief Minister on the occasion. Vedike will hold hunger strike in each taluk centre in November and one day protest in September in all district centres, he said.

Shanawaz is absolutely right. In Mangalore beef price is Rs. 100 and I asked the vendors who told me the price would have Rs. 80 but extra money have to be paid to police, self proclaimed protector of cows. I was shocked to hear from the beef vendors. Secondly the more shocking news is those who raise the voice againt cow slaugher, some of those memebers at the back door come to buy beef. This is real truth.

If the Govt bans cow slaughter, its good. During my recent vacation to my home town, I was told by my hotelier friend that some members of hindu groups who are his customers told him that beef should be made available to them every Wednesday and they would guarantee him that no raids are carried out on his premises. Govt. please think before you act......
