Bengaluru: BJP favouring constituencies of disqualified MLAs through higher grants - Gundu Rao

Bengaluru, Nov 9: "Karnataka chief minister (CM), B S Yediyurappa, who has been seen repeating the statement that he does not believe in politics of vengeance, has been releasing unduly high amount of grants to constituencies represented by disqualified legislators," alleged working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Dinesh Gundu Rao.

He was addressing a press conference held here on Friday November 8. "This partisan attitude is clearly visible in the release of funds under the Nagarothana scheme. Projects that are being implemented in constituencies of Congress MLAs are being cancelled and diverted. All these things reek of political vengeance. BJP's only aim is to win elections and staying glued to power," he analyzed.

Dinesh accused the BJP of having no concern for the flood-affected people, and having been driven by the greed to misuse power and make money. "The state had never in the past gone through such a pitiable phase. BJP cadres detest Yediyurappa. Even central leadership of the BJP does not have confidence in Yediyurappa. The chief minister has no way left but to appease the disqualified MLAs to stay in power," he stated.

He claimed that BJP state president, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has been moving around with a separate set of leaders. He also claimed that BJP national president, Amit Shah, has not been respectful towards the chief minister, and added that his analysis by looking at the present circumstances is that the state may face midterm poll anytime now. "Yediyurappa has failed to address the unhappiness of legislators from his own party," he claimed.
