Udupi, Nov 9: Vishweshatheertha Swamiji of Pejavar math reacting to the court verdict on Ayodhya said that the judgment including that Muslims should be given five acre land is personally agreeable to him. “The Ram Lalla land should be handed over to the trust for several reasons. The responsibility of constructing the temple is of the government. The birth place of Lord Ram is important for Hindus. Mosque is important for Muslims. There is no harm even if the land is extended a little. There should be provision for Hindus for devotion at Ram Janmabhoomi. It is the best opportunity to strengthen love and harmony between Hindus and Muslims by accepting it,” he said.

The seer watched the court proceeding on TV since morning. He thanked God from the place where he sat when the verdict was out as per his expectation.

He later answered questions of reporters in calmness. "Hindus and Muslims should join and decide on a suitable land for the Mosque. All the Hindus should join to construct the Mosque and all the Muslims should work to construct the temple. It is my aspiration that all should try to establish a new era of fraternity between Hindus and Muslims,” he said.

“All should maintain peace. Muslims should not be anxious. Let it be good for the country. I am personally pleased by the most desired verdict during my lifetime. Saints will sit and discuss on constructing the temple. Government has a greater responsibility. I aspire that all may proceed smoothly. May the decision of giving away the land be unanimous."

The seer proceed to Delhi tomorrow at 7 am upon invitation by Vishwa Hindu Parishad. A special plane is arranged from Mangaluru. The peace meeting will be held at 11 am.

“Let there be no dispute about Mathura-Kashi temple construction. There are sufficient developments already. I hope what the government is doing is agreeable to all,” he said.

Udupi district Muslim Sauharda samiti’s Mohammed Arif, Anwar Ahmed and Karamath Ali met the seer. “It is a historic verdict by the Supreme Court. Everybody should accept what is agreeable to all in democracy,” said the committee members.

Tight security is arranged in Udupi to prevent untoward incidents. The situation also was normal.
