Mangalore, Aug 16: The Popular Front of India (PFI) protested the state government’s decision in denying them permission for a ‘Freedom Parade’ on Independence Day, on Sunday August 16.

Addressing the protest, Anwar Sadath, district president of PFI, said, “There is a state government conspiracy which has caused them to deny permission for the Freedom Parade by the Popular Front of India as part of Independence Day celebrations. It was a conspiracy against PFI which is the voice of the minority community”.

The PFI had planned to hold a rally in Mysore and it was cancelled as they failed to get permission. Protests were also held in other parts of the state.
