Mangalore: Hoax Call of Bomb Scare in Malabar Express Sends Authorities into Alarm Mode

Mangalore, Aug 18: Panic struck central railway station in the city here on Sunday August 16 when an anonymous call warned the authorities at railway station in Palakkad that a bomb has been placed in Malabar express at around 5.45 pm.

The train was all set to leave for Thiruvananthapuram from Mangalore station at 6.15 pm. With the information Pandeshwar police and Railway police undertook a search opearation. Passengers were told to alight and bomb disposal squad as well as sniffer dogs were pressed into service.

However, there was no trace of bomb after intensive search operation and it came into light that it was a hoax call. Police are investigating further to trace the caller.
