Udupi: Woman who brushed with rat poison dies at hospital

Udupi, Nov 25: A woman who failed to differentiate between toothpaste and rat poison fell seriously ill and breathed her last at a hospital at Manipal.

The woman in question, Leela Karkera (57), resident of Kola in Malpe near here, had brushed her teeth early morning on November 19 with rat poison, confusing it as toothpaste. Later, she fell seriously ill. She was admitted into a hospital at Manipal immediately. After oscillating between life and death in the hospital for several days, she lost her battle for life on Sunday, November 24 afternoon.

A report in this connection was registered in Malpe police station.
