Brahmavar: Sastan tollgate - status quo, no fee for local vehicles

Brahmavar, Nov 27: "Although Fastag has been made compulsory from December 1 onward, the locals will have no problem. People living within Kota zilla panchayat limits will be allowed free passage at Sastan tollgate like before," said Kota police sub-inspector Nityananda Gowda.

He gave this information at the public meeting for Fastag awareness held on Tuesday November 26 at Shivakripa Kalhyana Mantap, Sastan under the aegis of National Highways Authority of India, district administration and police department.

"Even though the entry is free, every vehicle has to fix Fastag without any exception and move via the normal gate for cash collection. Additional staff, swipe machines etc have been requested to handle toll collection from vehicles without Fastag. The people need not be confused about this," he stated.

Brahmavar police circle inspector, Anantha Padmanabha, asked people to adapt to changes and find solutions to problems without getting agitated.

Rashtriya Heddari Jagriti Samiti's Pratap Shetty felt that making vehicles without Fastag and locals to pass by the same gate will result in traffic jam. He therefore sought a solution for the problem. Engineer of highways department, Naveen, requested eveoyne to fix Fastags to vehicles.

Sastan tollgate manager, Keshavamurthy, Pratap Shetty Sastan, Vttal Poojary and others were present.
