Bengaluru youth thrashed for supporting CAA, suffers fractured skull

Bengaluru, Dec 23: On his way back from pro-CAA rally, a Bengaluru youth was gravely injured by bike-borne assailants. The incident took place at Bamboo Bazaar in the city on Sunday.

B Ramesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West, said, "The victim's name is Varun. He has been admitted to a hospital. The attackers are yet to be identified."

Tejasvi Surya, MP from Bengaluru South, visited the youth and his family in the hospital.

"Varun was severely beaten up by some miscreants on bikes when he returning from a pro-CAA rally at Townhall. As soon as I heard about this, I rushed to the hospital," Surya said.

"I have asked the hospital staff including the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) to take utmost care for his early recovery. I even called up the DCP concerned to ensure swift investigation in the matter. I have urged the police to bring the perpetrators to justice," Surya added.

As per sources, Varun's vehicle was hit by two bikes. The youths were wearing helmets and once off the bike thrashed and beat Varun.

The police personnel of Hoysala squad took Varun to the hospital. The doctors claimed that the victim suffered skull fracture and other multiple injuries. However, he is in recovery and stable condition.
