Karkala, Dec 25: In an accident which happened on Monday December 23 at Gundyadka in Nitte village in the taluk, the rider of a scooty lost his life after the vehicle's wheels skidded when he was riding on the road.
Prashanth Poojary (29) from Gundyadka was moving towards Palli from the direction of Karkala by his scooty at around 3.45 pm on Monday. It is said that he was riding his two-wheeler recklessly and at high speed. On seeing a bus approaching him from the opposite direction, he all at once applied brakes at which the wheels of the scooty skidded and Prashanth fell onto the road with considerable force. He suffered serious injuries and passed away while being taken to the government hospital in the town.
