Bengaluru, Dec 29: Relating to skirmish she had with friend and film producer Vandana Jain, at the bar of a star hotel in the city, cine actress Sanjana, on Saturday December 28, filed a formal complaint with the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), central division here.

After meeting the DCP Chetan Singh, Sanjana asserted that she had not assaulted anyone as claimed by Vandana. "Vandana spoke ill of me and my mother, after which she went to the police and complained against me. Cubbon Park police called me at 2 am and asked me to come to police station immediately. Even after I objected to the timing of the call, they called me repeatedly and harassed me," she stated.

She said that the police refused to yield to her offer of visiting the station in the morning to narrate the turn of events. "They threatened to send me to jail. Considering this rude behaviour, I hesitated to go at that time. Just to see that my image if affected, Vandana has been making false allegations. Therefore, I have filed complaint with senior police officer," she explained.

Vandana on her part has said that Sanjana had come to the hotel where she along with friends had visited. "When my friends asked why we two were not talking to each other, she used bad words against me. I told her to mind her language and not to speak in this way in public place at which she splashed drink on me. My eyes were burning for over half an hour after that. Others who were there witnessed what Sanjana did. I immediately informed the police. She is making imaginary allegations. Does she have any evidences about them?" she questioned.

It is gathered that the police commissioner has sought explanation from Cubbon Park police about repeatedly calling the actress and pressurizing her to come to police station immediately although there is bar on asking women to come to station at an unearthly hour. DCP Chetan Singh said that Sanjana has filed counter complaint against Vandana and that the complaint has been registered in non-cognizable offence register.
