I Lost Rs.10 lakh because of Ramya: Kannada Film Producer

By R.G. Vijaysarathy

Bangalore, Sep 28 (IANS) Kannada film producer Shankare Gowda alleges that he has lost about Rs.1 million because of Ramya's unprofessional behaviour while shooting his film "Just Maath Maathnalli".

"Her unprofessional attitude has caused me a loss of Rs.10 lakh (Rs.1 million). The rescheduling of the song shooting and hiring a caravan has resulted in this loss," Gowda told IANS.

Ramya had a tiff with technicians and dancers of the Karnataka film industry while shooting a song for "Just Maath Maathnalli", which is being directed by actor Sudeep. After that she walked out of the sets.

The technicians and dancers alleged that she used abusive language while speaking to them during shoots of recent movies. They refused to work with the actress.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce had to intervene to resolve the issue between the actress and the Karnataka Dancers Association.

"I would have borne the losses if Ramya had completed the shooting of her portions in the film. But she walked out of the shooting without completing her scenes. We still have to take a few close up shots of her.

"We need Ramya for a day's shooting for canning the pending shots. If she does not turn up, we may have to compromise on the quality of the song. Now Sudeep will take a call whether he wants to call Ramya for the shoot or not," said Gowda.

He also claimed that he paid Rs.2 million to Ramya as her fees.

The entire unit of "Just Maath Maathnalli" is leaving for Singapore to shoot the rest of the film.

However, the producer is all praise for Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley whom he has roped in for another film "Sreemathi". He paid her Rs.2.5 million and says that the actress behaved professionally throughout the shoot.

"Her interest in learning the Kannada dialogues and selecting her own costumes have been appreciable," said Gowda.
