Bangalore: S V Ranganath to be Appointed Chief Secretary to State Government

Bangalore, Sep 29: S V Ranganath will take charge as the chief secretary to state government on Wednesday September 30 on the superannuation of Sudhakar Rao.

Ranganath, a 1975 batch IAS officer has served six Chief Ministers directly. He was joint secretary to Ramakrishna Hegde, secretary to M Veerappa Moily and H.D Deve Gowda; and principal secretary to S M Krishna, N Dharam Singh and H.D Kumaraswamy.

The state government recently sought repatriation of his services from the centre where he was serving as member (finance) of the Atomic Energy Commission and member (finance) of the Space Commission in order to appont Ranganath as chief ecretary of the state government. The letter from the centre repatriating him to Karnataka service was received in Bangalore on Thursday and the state cabinet, which met on Friday approved the appointment.

The government order appointing him as the chief secretary to the state government will be issued on Tuesday September 29.
