Beltangady: Vishwa Tulu Sammelan Committee Meets to Draw up Plans

“The convening of the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan at Ujire, is facilitating the progress of infrastructure in and around the fast developing taluk.  The officers are expected to put in their efforts for the success of this historical event”, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.


 
Kateel was speaking at the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan convening committee meeting held at Ujire here on Thursday October 1.
 
He urged the officers to work for the success of the Sammelan. He also sought the support of both the state and district administration in this endeavour. 

“The Vishwa Tulu Sammelan will educate the new generations of coastal residents to witness the splendour of Tulunadu of a bygone era”, added Kateel.
 
Deputy commissioner (DC) V Ponnuraj said that the drive for sustenance of Tulu culture got a major fillip through the planned Sammelan here, at a time when the enlightened fear the future of Tulu.

“The conferences on past Tulu traditions, practices and lifestyle, and the future challenges of Tulu, will be held with the participation of litterateurs, scholars, and Sri Kshetra Dharmadikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.  The impact of setting up a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the predominantly agriculture based regions of Dakshina Kannada will also be discussed on the occasion”, added Ponnuraj.
 
MLA Vasanth Bangera sought the support of everyone for the Sammelan.
 
The issues of road repairs, uninterrupted electricity supply, street lights, security arrangement, medical assistance, ambulance service, fire brigade, KSRTC bus services, drinking water facility, cleanliness and hygiene, which are essential for the success of convening Vishwa Tulu Sammelan, were also discussed on the occasion.
 
Assistant commissioner Dr Harish Kumar was also present on the dais.
 
PWD excutive engineer R K Bendre, assistant engineer Shivaprasad Ajila, police circle inspector Manjayya, sub-inspector B G Subbapuramat, Panchayat Raj engineering division assistant executive engineer Narendra, district health officer Dr Jagannath, taluk health officer Dr Ravindranath, Tahsildar Chidanand, fire brigade station officer J B D’Souza, and MESCOM assistant executive engineer Ratnakar Pai, were present on the occasion.
