Mangalore: ‘Wildlife Week’ Begins at Pilikula Biological Park

Mangalore, Oct 3: ‘Wildlife Week’ was inaugurated at the Dr Shivaram Karanth Biological Park at Pilikula on Friday October 2.

Drawing and quiz competitions on the theme of wild animals and nature marked the inaugural.

R M N Sahai, managing director, Cashew Development Corporation, inaugurated the competitions. He stressed the need to create awareness among children and the public that conservation of wildlife and nature is the need of the hour.












J R Lobo, executive director, Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, spoke of the development of the park. 

V Ponnuraj, deputy commissioner, Mangalore, presided over the function. Officers from forest departments S Shanthappa, and T V Mohandas, were the chief guests.

H Jayaprakash Bhandary, director of the park, welcomed all.  Dr K V Rao, director, science centre, Pilikula, proposed the vote of thanks.
