Sullia: SSLC Failed Enter Politics, Run Country - MP Nalin

Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Oct 3: "The front-benchers, who score high marks, become either doctors or engineers. Those in the middle benches normally pass in second grade and become government or other officials. The last benchers fail in the SSLC examination and enter politics like me, and get the responsibility of leading the country. This is the effect of the present system of education," commented MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He was speaking after participating in the inaugural of the auditorium donated by B Narayan Shekha Foundation to Bellare government PU College in the taluk, on Friday October 2. Kateel hailed the social concern shown by the Shekha brothers in donating the auditorium to the college, at a time when selfishness has been permeating through the different echelon of the society in general. He felt that the district does not lag behind as far as education is concerned, but expressed the view that there is a dearth of value-based, refined education that cultivates a sense of patriotism among students.

Former Manipal University vice-chancellor, Dr B M Hegde, who inaugurated the auditorium, advised the youngsters never to aim at amassing wealth. "Let us live for the others. Let us help the poor and mitigate their hardships," he pleaded. Terming Dakshina Kannada district as an Oasis, he felt that the percentage of destitutes in the district has been low, as people here live for and help one another. Students, along with their academics, should also learn the ways to lead meaningful lives," he felt.

On the occasion, retired High Court judge Jagannath Shetty, donors of the auditorium, Dr K Gangadhar Shekha, Dr K Sadanand Shekha, K Jayashankar Shekha and Dr Prabhakar Shekha were honoured.

MLA S Angara presided. Zilla panchayat member Chandrashekhar Kamat, taluk panchayat member Anasuya, gram panchayat president Vittaldas, block education officer Malleswami, veteran of cooperative movement, P S Chidanand Rao, and several others were present.

Well Said Mr.Nalinkumar.We really appreciate your sincere comments. But why do you blame education.People like you failed in exams because they did not study well and concentrate well.People like you are really lucky because imagine a heart patient who needs bypass surgery in your hands in operation theater. You need not go to jail because of lack of concentration and failure of surgery. Running the country is best job for people like you.As such you need not be sad about that,Most of the politicians fall into your category.
