Bangalore: Mattikere KCA Organizes Senior Citizens’ Day

Bangalore, Oct 6: Konkan Catholic Association (KCA) organized Senior Citizens’ Day for its members above 60 years of age at Konkan Bhavan, Mattikere here recently.

The programme began at 9.30 am with Konkani mass by celebrant Fr Michael Menezes. There were about 70 elders out of 100 members gathered.



KCA President David Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Later Fr Michael presented a talk that sent out a message highlighting the sacrificial life of elderly people and the difficulty they faced in bringing up their children.

Albina Vaz, committee member presented useful tips and advice concerning elderly people's health and safety. Later she sang some good old traditional Konkani hits like "Gupith mog", "Rosaline mujya mogachem" and the seniors joined and sang with her. Birthday song was sung for those who celebrated their birthday in October.

Lionel D'Souza conducted fun games and the winners were given away prizes.
