Udupi, Oct 7: The harvest festival was celebrated at CSI Ebenezer Church, Malpe, here recently.
 
The new paddy sheaves that were placed at C D Palanna’s residence, located on Malpe Beach Road, were blessed and taken in procession along with the faithful holding sugarcane and brought to the church at 7.30 am on Sunday. 
 

Ebenezer Church priest Fr Buckhart Berty conducted the prayer service along with Fr R G Heri.
 
Sugarcane was distributed to the children and the blessed paddy sheaves to the faithful on the occasion. Various games competitions were held on Sunday afternoon.
 
Fr Berty presided over the stage programme held on Sunday evening.
 
Dr Rathish Johnson was the chief guest on the occasion and prizes were distributed to the winners of various sports competitions.
 
Sports committee president Naveen Soans, treasurer Naveen Santhosh, deputy treasurer Benson Maben, and Lions Club member Jayakar Shetty were present on the dais.
