Bengaluru: Pick-up van turns turtle - One killed, two injured

Bengaluru, Jan 25: After a pick-up van turned turtle when negotiating a road bend on Friday January 2, one person who was inside the vehicle died, while two others suffered serious injuries. The ill-fated vehicle was going towards Arasinamakki from Shibaje when it met with the said accident.

Harish (25), son of Kariya from Pilathinja in Kaukrady near Kokkada lost his life. The inured stand admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru for treatment.

The pick-up vehicle belongs to Raju from Shibaje, who owns Chandini Furniture near Sauthadka, Kokkada. It is said that over-speeding and reckless driving caused the vehicle to topple at the steep road bend.

The person who was driving the vehicle left the vehicle then and there, and ran away. Beltangady traffic police reached the spot, registered a case, and began probe.
