Mangaluru, Jan 30: The Mangalore Management Association (MMA) on January 28 organized a monthly talk for its members and guests at SDM MBA College conference Hall, Kodialbail, here.

Jairaj B Rai, vice-president of MMA welcomed the august audience. Dr Narayana Kayarkatte, treasurer of MMA introduced the speaker, Damodar Kamath, principal, staff Training College Karataka Bank and former GM Corporation Bank, the guest speaker of the day.

He spoke on 'Soft skills for effective management'. He defined hard skill and soft skill elaborately. "Life is an echo. Whatever you give will come back. The attitude and seven reasons to change it namely Worry, Gratitude, Health, Joy Boomer Act, Learn to say No, Time Metrics, listening skill, Communication Skill, Styles and leadership skills were touched upon. He spoke on the Prime Minister's style of addressing. "We should be always fearless and positive and face bad news time flies and good time makes us pilots. Caste and religion are taking precedence over hunger and poverty. Majority and minority issues are more focused than actual. Always avoid me or I but instead use we and our team." It was an interesting talk and he presented a vast subject in a very simple easy to understand way. Lastly, MMA joint secretary Dr Gayatri Babu J gave the vote of thanks.
