Kundapur: Bike collides with car – Rider killed

Kundapur, Jan 30: A head on collision between a bike and a car killed the bike rider here.

The bike rider was returning after Srinivas Kalyanotsava programme on Wednesday. The bike rider is identified as Kiran, resident near Vaddarse.

Kiran was returning after Kalyanotsava at Garike math on Tuesday. Meanwhile a car driven by Praveen Shetty in his attempt to overtake the vehicle in front of it near the shop belonging to Ramanna Shetty of Vaddarse village turned to his right and hit the bike of Kiran head-on.

Kiran fell with the motor bike on the car in the impact. His head hit the car windscreen and he fell down. As Kiran suffered serious injuries to his head, hands and leg, he was unable to speak. He was admitted to Manipal hospital as inpatient. His condition became serious and he died on Wednesday evening at 4.40 pm without responding to treatment. A police case is registered in Kota police station in this connection.
