Kalaburagi: Sriramulu says he never insisted on DCM post

Kalaburagi, Jan 31: State health minister B Sriramulu, clarified on Thursday January 30 that he had never approached the chief minister for the post of deputy chief minister (DCM).

He was responding to question raised by media persons who drew his attention to Yediyurappa's statement that new post of DCM will not be created. Sriramulu was at the airport here.

"I never sought any position or post when joining the party. The high command of the party decides about posts to be given to legislators. I am committed to the decisions which may be taken by the party's leadership," Sriramulu stated.

He also sought to clear misgivings by saying that he does not have any differences of opinion with Ramesh Jarkiholi. "He is like my brother. The notion that we have differences because I am insisting on the post of the DCM is ill-founded. It is true that some Swamijis from Valmiki community and some leaders have been carrying on campaign on my behalf in the social media. They are doing so out of their affection for me, nothing else," he stated.
