Bantwal, Jan 31: Thieves entered a house through the front door at Kaikunje, B C Road on January 30 when the residents were away and decamped with silver items and cash.

Kaikunje resident Srihari Elachittaya had gone to B C Road along with his wife when the theft took place. “Thieves have taken away silver mini pot, lights, plates, items used during prayers that were kept in a plastic cover in the cupboard in the room. They have also taken away cash kept in the steel cupboard,” stated Sharada K, wife of Srihari, in the police complaint.

The estimated value of stolen items including cash is Rs 24,500. A complaint was registered at Bantwal town police station. Investigation is in progress.
