Kundapur: Fake Ayurvedic doctor cheats couple of Rs 5 lac

Kundapur, Feb 2: A case is registered in the city police station according to the complaint filed by Deepa M Shenoy, a resident of town municipality limits, alleging an ayurvedic doctor of cheating her and her husband Rs five lacs on the pretext of giving medicines and assuring the complete cure of severe knee pain suffered by Mohan U Shenoy, husband of the complainant.

The complaint filed by Deepa M Shenoy says, "My husband Mohan U Shenoy is suffering from acute pain in his knee joints. On December 31, 2019, a person by the name Balaji had come to our house. With his sweet talk, he made us believe in him. Later he introduced a person called Sitarama as his elder brother. On January 2, Sitarama came to our house and took my husband Mohan U Shenoy to the ayurvedic clinic, which was near our house saying that he will provide medicine for his knee pain.

"In the clinic, Sitarama and Vikas gave us ayurvedic oil for knee pain and assured us of complete recovery from the condition. The took Rs 1,000 in cash and a cheque for Rs 4.54 lac in advance for the complete treatment. This cheque amount is credited to a person by the name Anil Pawar. After some days the clinic is found to be closed. Accused Balaji, Sitarama, Vikas and Anil Pawar have deceived us."

Kundapur police are investigating further.

    Many people make the mistake of believing immediately when someone suggests to switch on to Ayurvedic medicines without go to a second doctor.Biggest mistake of this couple was to pay to the unknown person big amount in advance.Now no need to cry .Best go to the hospital and get him treated.Be happy it was not higher amount.

    Two years back I had an LIC agent who was a good service provider. He found that he has cancer and someone suggested him to meet Ayurvedic doctor and take treatment and avoid Allopathy. So he tried this treatment and in a few months was bedridden. When he moved from Ayurvedic to Allopathy the disease had spread to third stage and he told me that he made a mistake by taking Ayurvedic treatment and next time we called him his son informed that the person is no more. So it is necessary to consult a doctor who had the right knowledge of disease and cure, than repenting later.
