Mangalore: Woman Loses Life After Being Hit by Bus

Mangalore, Oct 28: A retired teacher named Ramani Salins (60), breathed her last after being hit by a bus on Tuesday October 27 evening. She had been critically injured in the accident and breathed her last in a private hospital here, at night.

Salins was a resident of Marutinagar Extension in Hosabettu. When she was on her routine evening walk with her husband, a bus plying on Kinnigoli-Mangalore route hit her.

A case has been registered in this connection, at Suratkal police station.

If I was there, I would've immediately arrested that ruffian by dragging him by his collars and flinging him into the jail. The driver ought to be rotting behind bars without any anticipatory bail. Just as here (in the Middle East), blood money has to be paid by the driver to the kith or kin of the deceased, a same type of rule too has to be implemented to create an awareness amongst other rash drivers. of the bus who hit that poor lady.
