Mangalore: Commissionerate in City Turning Out to be a Mirage?

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Oct 29: The talk of setting up of a commissionerate in the city, which is expected to give a boost to law and order machinery in the city and the coast, has been in the air since a couple of years. After a number of statements and claims were made on the issue, western range inspector Gopal Hosur had said on September 17 this year that the commissionerate would be set up before the end of this financial year, in three phases.

However, when the media men queried the visiting state director general of police (DGP), Ajai Kumar Singh, about the commissionerate, he asked them to pose this question to the home minister. The media men then wanted to know the progress achieved so far on the issue, and at what stage the setting up of the commissionerate is now. The DGP again asked them to approach the home minister with this question.
