Bangalore, Oct 30: JDS will be holding a meeting here on Friday October 30 evening, to discuss the recent developments in the state and to discuss about providing relief materials and food grains to the flood-affected people of North Karnataka.

MPs, MLAs and former MLAs of the party have been invited for the meeting, scheduled to be held at 5.30 pm at the City Institute, Chamarajpet here. The discussions will hover around the future possibilities in view of the internal squabbles within the faction-ridden BJP and the demand for the change of Yeddyurappa's leadership, and the way the party has to move in future, under these circumstances.

The party will also consider providing further assistance to the flood-affected people. The party had earlier supplied 30 truck loads of food grains and relief materials to the distressed people.

In the meanwhile, speaking at Hassan, both JDS supremo Deve Gowda, and state president, Kumaraswami, said that they are not interested in encashing the situation or joining hands with any political party to form a government in the state. "I had committed a mistake by joining hands with the Congress. My son, Kumaraswami, erred by going with the BJP. We have learnt our lessons. Our experience has taught us that we should not indulge in such politics," said Deve Gowda. Echoing similar sentiments, Kumaraswami accused Yeddyurappa of indulging in politics of vengeance, which he said, the CM had followed even when he had worked with the JDS. "It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister and his party colleagues are indulging in bickering, instead of rising to the aspirations of five crore Kannadigas and working to solve the problems of the flood-affected people," he commented.

Deve Gowda said that dissidence is not new to Karnataka. He cited the examples of differences of opinion between him and Ramakrishna Hegde, and also the bitter infighting during the rule of Dharam Singh and Veerendra Patil, former Chief Ministers of the state.
