Bantwal, Feb 20: A boy who escaped from his home at Ramanagara was found at Melkar here. On Wednesday February 19, he was reunited with his parents in the presence of the police personnel of the town station here.

A sixth standard student from Ramanagara had run away from his home two days back. He bought a ticket and boarded a train. During the train travel, he came in contact with an ascetic named Siddaramu. Siddaramu had planned to cover the journey to Dharmasthala by foot on Wednesday before undertaking onward journey to Sabarimala. He got down at B C Road railway station, and the boy also got down from the train and followed the Swami.

The ascetic said he had asked the boy repeatedly not to trail him but the boy did not listen. When the two were passing through Melkar, the matter came to the notice of the civic workers of the municipality here. They informed the matter to Iqbal Perlia, district president of Human Rights Protection Forum. Iqbal questioned the Swami and the boy and contacted the boy's parents through certain organizations. After getting information, the parents of the boy immediately started from Ramanagara and reached here on Wednesday night.

The boy was handed to the custody of his parents.
