Mangalore: Mysterious Disappearance of Two Boats with Same Driver

Mangalore, Nov 1: In a strange incident, a boat driver, who ventured into the sea twice with different boats has disappeared along with the occupants of the boats, about 15 fishermen since 20 days.

According to complaint registered at the Pandeshwar police station, the driver has been identified as Amalanathan (25) of Dindigal district, Tamil Nadu. He first went away with the boat, Seema Rekhe belonging to Mohammed Nazeer of Emmekere, Bolar on October 11. He again returned on October 13 and took away the boat Likitha belonging to Anil Kumar Suvarna.

Along with Amalanathan, the boat Seema Rekhe had another co-driver Rajaraman, crew members, Suresh, Kumar, Kalaajam, Dileep and Sundar. Boat Likitha too had seven members including an assistant driver. So far no signals have arrived for both the boats and now are suspected to be missing in the mid sea. A complaint was made by Mohammed Nazeer.
